Job Description

Based out of the Netherlands the team forms the Center of Excellence for Automation Software and together with the US team responsible for the Warehouse Control System.

The Warehouse Control System (WCS) is designed and build to support the highly mechanized automated logistics facilities and the full pallet moves in the manual operated facilities.

Within the customer software landscape WCS is responsible for location and inventory management, layer picking, case and pallet transports real-time visualization, transport movements combined with transport and storage optimization.

The Logistics Software Engineer will be working on the design, development, maintenance and support of the WCS solutions within our customer software landscape.

You will be pushing innovations and improvements to create, an even better, WCS solution to manage and optimize the utilization of the logistics facilities.

Responsibilities

Work with the core project team to understand the functionality that is needed and how it will be used in an operational setting.

Design, Develop and Maintain the Warehouse Control System

Project implementation and on-site Go-Live support (24 / 7)

Criteria :

NET Proficiency : Understanding of .NET framework and C#.

Database Management : Skills in database design and management, especially with SQL Server and Entity Framework.

Front-end Development : Knowledge of ASP.NET MVC, Blazor, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

API Development : Experience in developing and consuming RESTful APIs and possibly GraphQL.

IoT and Hardware Integration : Understanding of IoT principles and experience with hardware integration.

Cloud Services : Familiarity with cloud services, especially Azure.

Understanding of Warehouse Operations : Background in logistics or warehouse operations

Prefer

Experience in Warehousing / Logistics environment.

Experience with PLC communication and process control.

Experience with the use of DevExpress.

Work Authorization

Cognizant will only consider applicants for this position who are legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

Compensation : - The annual salary for this position is between $80,000 - $120,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
